Schopenhauer and Truths About Cows

Just got this quote by Schopenhauer from my friend Tom at SuperWisdom. (Highly recommend his work and newsletter.)

"Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In the first, it is ridiculed, in the second it is opposed, in the third it is regarded as self-evident." ~Arthur Schopenhauer

Makes me think...

A truth that will follow this aphorism precisely: the fact that dairy is ridiculously bad for your health and that the only reason you drink it is because the dairy industry has a $160 million annual budget to convince you your arms will rip off if you don't.

Dairy is disgusting and has no place in the human body. (Unless of course, you're not really a human being but in fact a new born calf who weighs 60 pounds and needs to grow to 600 pounds in 6 months--in which case, you DEFINITELY need to drink cow's milk...and, congrats on being able to read this!!! :)

For the record, btw, the scientific fact of the matter is that the high protein content in dairy is actually forcing your bones to release calcium into your body to alkalize the high level of acidity created by the protein in dairy--effectively weakening your bones, not strengthening them.

(Want to learn more about that? Go check out Dr. John McDougall's work and buy his DVD's: McDougall's Medicine: Fighting the Big Fat Lies with Fad-Free Truth. You'll be glad you did.)

It's appalling how the dairy industry gets away with marketing such ridiculous stuff...It'll be fun to see society change over the years and decades ahead...

And to think that at one point we were convinced cigarettes weren't bad for our health...
